We’re a small team — and each year we help thousands of people book their ski holidays across eight French resorts. Our job is simple: to help you find the perfect place for your group, so you get the best possible holiday. We work for you, the person booking, which means the advice you get is honest and built entirely around what suits you. This page is about who we are and how the business came to exist. If you want to know how we actually work, that’s on our How We Work page.

Our Story

Chalets and Apartments Ltd was founded by Theo and Clare in Courchevel in 2009. They started with a few private owners who trusted them to find the right guests for chalets and apartments they cared about, alongside a handful of carefully chosen tour operators for clients who wanted catered holidays. Theo and Clare did that job well — and matching the right guest to the right property turned out to be the thing the business was genuinely good at. It still is.

That reputation grew, and the business grew with it — first into Méribel in 2011, on the same model of trusted private owners and tour operators, then into Val Thorens in 2016, where we added residences to the mix. Three resorts in the heart of the Three Valleys, and a steadily growing base of owners and clients who came back to us year after year.

Then we did something most agencies wouldn’t. We looked at our competitors — at the superb properties sitting in their calendars that our clients would have loved — and instead of fighting them for those guests, we partnered with them. It meant that, for the first time, the best properties in each resort could all be booked in one place, whoever they belonged to.

That network is what let us grow quickly across the Alps. With over 1,500 properties, the partnerships and the clients already in place, adding new resorts was natural. In 2023 we brought five more onto our sites, and today we cover eight.

The business is now run by Ross, who came out to Méribel for a ski season after deciding the City wasn’t for him. Skiing had always been a huge part of his life, and the job let him turn that into something useful: helping as many people as possible enjoy the mountains. Theo and Clare have since moved to Australia, where Theo is originally from; he still advises, but the day-to-day is now Ross and the team.

So whether you know exactly the chalet you want or you’ve no idea where to start, you’re in the right place — and there’s a team here who books these resorts every week, ready to help.

What We Believe

A few things guide every decision we make — and they’re the reason booking with us feels different.

Your holiday is the point — not the sale. Every booking is someone’s week in the mountains, often the one they’ve looked forward to all year. We measure ourselves on whether you have a great time, not on whether we closed a deal. Get that right and you’ll come back — so it’s the only thing worth getting right.

We give you straight advice. We’ll tell you what genuinely suits your group, even when that means steering you away from a property you’d asked about, or pointing you toward a different resort altogether. No overselling, no chalet described as ski-in/ski-out when it’s a ten-minute walk, no costs that appear at the end.

The best properties, in one place. Rather than compete with other agencies for the finest chalets and apartments, we partner with them — so the property you want is bookable here, whoever it belongs to. One conversation, the best of the resort, no hunting across a dozen websites.

Meet the Team

Ross — Director

Ross runs the business from the UK — which day to day means keeping the team supported and the service sharp, and working constantly to make everything we do a little better, often building automations behind the scenes so the bookings run smoothly and the team can focus on clients. He grew up on family ski holidays in the Alps, and skiing turned into a family obsession — one that took him into competitive racing through his teens and saw his dad qualify as an instructor in his fifties — so he’s seen these resorts from every angle. These days a perfect day is a powder morning with mates — first lifts for the fresh snow, a few beers to finish — and away from the slopes you’ll find him with family and friends, out hiking and camping with his fiancée, or battling his table tennis addiction.

Calum — Head of Bookings

Calum is the person many of our clients deal with directly — he spends his days helping them find the right place for their trip, keeping clients in the loop from first enquiry onwards, and working alongside our property owners too. He spent a full year living in Méribel early on, so he knows resort life first-hand. Outside work he’s a family man first, recently a dad to a baby son, with a serious love of music and festivals — he and Ross share an annual Glastonbury pilgrimage the two of them are far too obsessed with. And he’s always happy to be out on the snow.

Sue — Accounts and Operations

Sue looks after the company’s finances, and over the years has taken on far more besides — she’s now the main point of contact for many of our property owners and runs much of the day-to-day operations, having steadily taken the reins on both from Ross as the business has grown. A qualified bookkeeper (ICB), she came to CAL after a varied career across finance and administration, and has a real appetite for sharper, more efficient ways of doing things — she’s been central to the business’s push to automate. Her first visit to the mountains was in 2012, and the “wow factor” has kept her coming back, though she prefers to explore on foot or by bike. Outside work she’s into live music, cycling, tennis, yoga and Pilates, and loves getting away with family in her motorhome, Dora.

Manel — Client & Partner Support

Manel joined CAL in 2022 and has become someone the whole team leans on. She spends most of her time helping clients with their enquiries — finding people exactly the right place for their holiday, which is the part of the job she loves most — and she also helps find new property partners for our sites. Before CAL she spent over a decade in customer support, so looking after people comes naturally. Originally from Tunisia, she speaks Arabic, French and English, and outside work has her hands full with two young children.

Nadia — Client & Property Support

Nadia joined CAL in 2025 and turns her hand to a bit of everything — keeping property listings, the CRM and the website accurate, researching new properties, answering client enquiries after they’ve booked, and helping things run smoothly day to day. She’s increasingly involved in finding and bringing on new properties for our sites, too. She came from a background in administration and customer service, with a spell in education coordinating language courses, and speaks Malagasy, French and English. Curious and meticulous by nature, she’s at her best with things done properly — and her long-term dream is to open her own hairdressing salon.

Mirija — Client Support

Mirija joined CAL in 2025 and is one of the team looking after our clients through the winter season — from the moment they book right through to the end of their stay. She’s there with recommendations in the run-up, like where to sort ski hire, sends out the details on how to reach the property, and checks everyone’s arrived safely. And if something needs sorting once you’re in resort, she’s often the voice on the end of the phone, making sure it gets put right. She came to CAL after a year as personal assistant to one of the company’s founders, and is known on the team for her accuracy. When she’s not fine-tuning a process, she’s likely trying out a new recipe, planning her next trip, or out for her morning workout.

Hajar — Client Support

Hajar joined CAL in 2025 and works alongside the team looking after our guests — handling enquiries, managing bookings, and helping sort out anything that comes up before, during or after a stay. She’s the person you want on the other end when something’s gone sideways: she’s known on the team for staying calm under pressure and quietly finding a solution. She speaks Arabic, French and English, and away from work she’s into reading, travel, music and tech — at her happiest with a problem to solve and someone to help.

Our team in resort

Not everyone who looks after your holiday sits at a desk — or works for us directly. In every resort we work with a trusted network of local people: the property managers, housekeepers and meet-and-greet teams who get each chalet and apartment ready, hand over the keys, and are on hand if something’s needed during your stay. They aren’t our employees, but we work closely enough with them that, to you, it shouldn’t make a difference — they’re an extension of the same team, and your holiday depends on them as much as on us. Jake is the exception: our own man on the ground, on hand for welcomes and for the moments that need someone there in person.

Ready when you are

Whether you know exactly the chalet you want or you’ve no idea where to start, we’re here to help you find the right place for your group — and make the rest easy. Browse the properties for your resort, or tell us what you’re after and we’ll do the legwork.
