Experience one of Tignes’ most unique winter activities with Ice Floating – a relaxing and unforgettable adventure on a frozen mountain lake. Suitable for almost everyone, this unusual experience combines tranquillity, stunning alpine scenery and the remarkable sensation of floating effortlessly in icy water.
After putting on a specially designed insulated dry suit over your normal clothing, you’ll step into the crystal-clear waters of the frozen Lake Tignes, where the water temperature is around 2°C. Despite the icy conditions, the dry suit keeps you warm and dry, allowing you to relax and enjoy the incredible feeling of weightlessness as you gently float beneath the open sky.
Whether you choose a daytime session with spectacular mountain views or an evening experience beneath the stars, the activity offers complete peace and a wonderful opportunity to disconnect from everyday life. The pressure of the water against the suit also creates a soothing effect, similar to a natural compression therapy treatment.
Each session takes place on a private section of the lake, making it an ideal activity for couples, families or groups of friends. Guests are also served a complimentary hot tea to enjoy while floating on the water, adding an extra touch of comfort to this truly memorable experience.
For those looking to make the occasion even more special, the Ice Floating Apéro experience includes a longer session followed by drinks and a selection of local snacks overlooking the surrounding mountains. A non-alcoholic drink is provided, with vegetarian options available on request.
The experience lasts approximately one hour, including around 45 minutes in the water, although participants are free to leave the water earlier if they wish. The Apéro option lasts around 90 minutes.
